Difference between Standalone Client vs Steam?

I'm playing from the standalone client, and I just found out there's a Steam version. What's the difference?

Gameplay-wise, Nothing.  Nada.  Zilch.
Although the Steam version is in Early Access and you get $30 of stuff for only $10

Can I access my current account from the Steam version?

Nope

Two different servers. And before you ask there won't be a merge due to some TOS issues w/ STEAM and Kongregate and whatnot..

if they dont merge, thats like splitting the player base in half, not wise really

I agree Nevadia if they don't merge after it's out of early access/beta on steam it's splitting the player base. {:3_61:}

Actually, everyone is on the same servers, it's just a legal thing.

So, you can't access your web client characters over on Kongregate or Steam?

Also, did anyone (including beta testers) get Steam access, or does everybody have to pay for that?

AFAIK all the KS backers were given an early access starter pack as well.

The stand alone client is not being tracked by raptr somehow (not a big deal  but still id like to see how many hours i played the game. And i dont want to do  all the misisons again just to be on the steam version.
