I think the issue is just that Akaneiro doesn't immediately look like a Japanese word when romanized.

Also, unless I'm mistaken the kanji should be 茜色 ("madder red"), based on the game's FAQ, which I bring up only because it's been written out incorrectly a few times in this thread. Incidentally, Little Red Riding Hood is actually known as Akazukin-chan, or 赤ずきんちゃん (roughly "little miss red hood") in Japan. Quite an innocent name, with no opportunity for cool wordplay.

Anyway, I don't think the hyphen would look very aesthetically pleasing in the logo, and it's probably a bit late to rebrand (not that I can think of any cool Japanese titles that could relate back to Little Red Riding Hood, anyway).

Voted yes because it is grammatically correct.

@admin: It is true that the name is easier to "google" for with the way it is now, but you're already heading down the wrong road if everything you do is about advertising. I would have more respect for the game if it was spelled the way the Japanese culture spells it. I am American but I am sick of the way the American mentality reconfigures something so it brings higher capital gain.

I like the current name. Akaneiro sounds good! I think it's too late to change the name anyway, since the game already released and all!

The title name is AKANEIRO, and people should be pronounce it correctly. AKA NE IRO
Might as well pronounce the vowels the same way Japanese do.

A-KA-NE-I-RO
ah-ka-knee-e-roh  <--close enough

A - ”ah”
I - ”ee/e”
U - ”oo/h”
E - ”eh”
O - ”oh”
N - ”n”
