How do you use zendesk for bug reports / suggestions?

Edited by dean.rugaard at 2013-1-13 23:25

//EDIT//

Moderator Cassielle asked for her post to be added to the top of this post. Which is hereby done:

Had a crash or a fatal content error and want to get your unity logs? Here's what you do!

First, make sure not to refresh or click "End program" -- it's important that your Unity Web Player is still running!

Open a Windows Explorer window, and type in "%TEMP%\UnityWebPlayer\log\" (don't type in the quotes!) in the addressbar, and hit enter. Copy any log_randomlongstringhere and manager_randomlongstringhere files to somewhere to keep them safe, then attach them to your ZenDesk report!

\\EDIT\\

This is how.

Note: Ignore that im using the Nightly browser and havnt enabled the Unity Web Player.

I will make a bug submission for the fake bug that the Unity WP isnt working on my platform.

That looks like this:

Bug noticed
Click the "report bugs /suggestions" button to bottom left of the game screen.

Notice the marked login/signup area.

Fill in the form with the relevant info. give as much info in as few precise words as you can.
If there is a need for attaching a screenshot or more, do so at the bottom of the form. Notice: there is a 2 megabyte single file limit. Each file cant be over 2 megabytes.

Now just press "Submit"

And you will get this screen.
You will now receive a submission confirmation email.

Which looks like this in gmail.

And that will be that, if there is response to your question, you will get an email back. and you can then respond directly at the indicated spot in the email

If however your submisison is accepted as is. You wont get an email.

If you look at the second image in my previous post.

Ive marked the login and signup option in the top right corner of zendesk.

There are a couple of options for this.

[*]You can just fill in a valid email and dont worry about login/signup.
The "problem" with this one is tracking bug reports with a unified login. Its not gonna happen.
Unless you jump through a hoop or two to get it working, but you wont need a guide for that, the zendesk system will take care of that for you.
[*]You can login with a valid email and password. (This one should explain itself :) )
[*]You can signup (Highly recommended if you havnt submitted a bug here before, if you have, see point 2)
This brings you to image below.

Fill in your data as needed and submit it.

now, with the guide done. Its time for a couple of pointers on "good" practices for feedback.

[*]Precise info, with well documented details where needed.
[*]Screenshots that show the affected area/item/char/etc where relevant.
[*]Double check your bug report for correct submission.
[*]Dont use HIGH priority unless its a block or crash bug.

Beta testers should always be encouraged to submit meaningful and well-documented bug reports.

Have I overseen it, or is there no actual link in the first Post to connect to the Zendesk? Perhaps would be helpful for the new players coming to this thread :-)

What about the potions from the shop? how long do these last? one level? would be fantastic to know since you have to buy them.

Origami Publish time 2013-2-15 04:35:01

wikidjunglist, they last for 30 minutes. And you can use few different ones at the same time, but remember that multiple food of one kind don't stack neither in the power nor time they last.
