At that point, it's not even an auction, it's a sale. Though to be honest, whalers gonna whale, and I think 1M is not a bad place to give an auto-8. It's like the royalty shop, something so ridiculously unreachable to 99% of the players, that it's allowable. I'm perfectly fine with these whales putting more into the game to support it for something as "little" as x8 event cards

I think the garunteed event raid boss would be a decent deal.  I think maybe they could increase to top 51-75 still get 8 cards? But disagree with a garunteed 8 cards at any amoun of points. That's just part of these games period.

Yeah, I've suggested that a couple of days ago.
SH must make some money to keep developing the game. If everything was free the game would die.
Another idea is to increase the competition for whales. Only let the top 20 have 8 cards and then let us know when the rest can pick up the scraps in the different shops when the event is over. SH would make more money and could keep up development for guilds and new content.
As been said - whalers gonna whale.

if they do make 1m 100% 8x than they should make it so that when you reach 1m you instantly get mail rewards and your rank to get removed so they won't take any spots in top 50.
else whole top 50 will lose it point if all of them will go for 1m anyways.
