Hello,

Previously I had downloaded the installer from the website and created a new account to play the game. Right now, there is a 50% off sale on Steam. I would like to know if I buy the early-access pack from Steam, can I login using the same account that I am using currently?

No. Spicyworld accounts belong to Spicy Horse, Steam accounts belong to Valve and Kongregate accounts belong to Kongregate. Tere are law regulations that make account merging between platforms impossible.

But all the players are conected to same servers if you're wondering. Multiplayer will be cross-platform so you will be able to play with your friend no matter what platform they're on. Hope it helps a little.

Wow, I hadn't heard about laws that wouldn't allow you to merge accounts like that. The lone thing I've heard of is the safe harbor data laws.

You know, each platform use their own account system that has all the data of players - emails, passwords and things like that. They can't just simply share that with other company, and it's definitely needed to have access to your game files. I guess that's the thing that makes transfer of data between accounts impossible.

Oh, OK. I was thinking it was something else all together. Companies could adopt open standards if they wanted. But that won't work unless it is thought of from the beginning.  Converting to an open system afterwords probably would be too difficult and may expose propitiatory  material.
