I can attest to that... the last four stages in the final island are all random...

Here's my suggestion,  all last stages in all the Regions should be random

1st Region: Abzu (Water/Cataclym 1)
                     Kur-gal  (Fire/Inferno 1)
                     Asakku  (Earth/Tempest 1)
                     Lilitu  (Wind/Seismic 1)
                     Namatar  (Random 1-2 )

2nd Region: Ninlil  (Water/Cataclym 1-2)
                       Husbisag  (Fire/Inferno 1-2)
                       Pazuzu  (Earth/Tempest 1-2)
                       Hanbi  (Wind/Seismic 1-2)
                       Rabisu  (Random 2-3)

3rd Region: Hanbi  (Water/Torrent 1)
                      Edimmu  (Fire/Blaze 1)
                      Asag  (Earth/Cyclone 1)
                      Panzu (Wind/Mineral 1)
                      Tunam  ( Random 1-2 )

4th Region: Lidim  (Water/Torrent 1-2 )
                      Sakku-tar  (Fire/Blaze 1-2 )
                      Kurnam  (Earth/Cyclone 1-2 )
                      Ab-gal  (Wind/Mineral 1-2)
                      Irkalla  (Random 2-3 )

That is a great suggestion!!!
Indeed an hope fix is required.
Hanbi (2nd region) cannot be 15 hope while previous levels are 9.
Lildim cannot be 15 hope while next are 20.
Namatar is 9 hope but it is random 1-2 and should be fine..

Personally I'm more for the last 4 stages....being equal EP and having one for each element (1-2).

Don't see why anyone element has to suffer more than another, when the amount  of Farming needed is suffering in itself

Also just found out some of the islands in the 3rd stage Panzu, Tunam are random... You can't make everything random, and if this is the new way of random drop then I suggest the drop rate increase as well for the random stages... at least 2-3 drop minimum.

Exactly a hope change is required for the change as the random stages would be slightly higher

What if the last stage, Irkalla, had the same elemental augment as the disciple? Like this time it's a Liquid disciple, so Torrent.

Atm it's a pain in the ass to farm for certain materials. At least there should be some sort of consistency like stunner here suggested, total randomness blows donkey balls.

And the event stage selection screen should tell which materials are collected from the selected stage. Just like every other place in The Gate tells you which are possible drops.
